Taekwang Industrial Launches Korea’s First Plant-Based Cooling Fiber Brand
2025.07.14

Taekwang Industrial, a textile and petrochemical affiliate of the Taekwang Group, announced on the 23rd that it has launched ACECOOL-BIO, an eco-friendly nylon yarn made from plant-based materials, marking the first of its kind in Korea.

This product improves upon the shortcomings of conventional synthetic fibers by enhancing moisture absorption and breathability. It is expected to be highly applicable in sportswear, functional innerwear, and summer workwear, helping maintain comfort even in hot and humid summer conditions.

Notably, the manufacturing process of ACECOOL-BIO emits less than half the carbon compared to traditional cooling fibers. It also offers superior dyeability and vibrant coloration compared to conventional nylon. The company explained that it has also reduced energy consumption by shortening the dyeing process.

Starting with this product, Taekwang Industrial plans to release additional new fiber brands in the second half of the year.

A company representative stated, “With the launch of this product, we aim to meet the growing demand for eco-friendly textiles and contribute to the expansion of ESG management in the fashion industry. We will continue to lead the high-performance yarn market and strengthen our position as a premium eco-friendly brand.”
