Taekwang Industrial and Daehan Synthetic Fiber Target ESG Market with ‘ACEPORA-ECO’
2026.09.15

As rising crude oil prices and global supply chain instabilities persist, interest in eco-friendly recycled yarns is rapidly growing across the textile and fashion industries. Driven primarily by global fashion brands, demands for carbon reduction, resource circularity, and supply chain transparency are intensifying. Consequently, recycled yarn has moved beyond being a mere eco-friendly material to become a core solution for transforming the sustainable textile industry.

Amid this trend, Taekwang Industrial Co., Ltd. (Co-CEOs Lee Bu-eui and Jung In-cheol) and Daehan Synthetic Fiber Co., Ltd. (CEO Kim Dae-jung) are accelerating their penetration into the global premium ESG market with their eco-friendly recycled textile brand, "ACEPORA-ECO."

"ACEPORA-ECO" is a premium eco-friendly yarn brand jointly developed by Taekwang Industrial and Daehan Synthetic Fiber, distinguished by its established recycled lineups across both major textile categories: nylon and polyester. Notably, Taekwang Industrial's production infrastructure—featuring South Korea's only vertically integrated textile and petrochemical system spanning from raw materials to finished goods—serves as the foundation for securing stable quality and supply competitiveness even amid raw material supply instabilities.

The polyester line consists of "Post-Consumer" recycled products made by recycling used waste PET bottles. Approximately nine waste PET bottles are reused to produce a single T-shirt, enhancing carbon reduction effects by cutting energy consumption by up to 67% compared to standard processes.

The nylon line applies a "Pre-Consumer" approach that recycles industrial waste generated during the manufacturing process. This method reduces energy consumption by approximately 53%, earning praise for establishing a resource-circular production system.

Such eco-friendly technological capabilities have also been verified through global certifications. Along with obtaining the Global Recycled Standard (GRS), an international certification for recycled materials, they have also acquired the OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100 certification, which verifies the safety of textile products against harmful substances, thereby meeting the stringent ESG criteria demanded by global fashion brands.

A representative from Taekwang Industrial stated, "Global brands are continuously raising their demands to meet strict standards regarding functionality, quality, and the environment. Moving forward, we will strengthen our competitiveness in the eco-friendly premium yarn market based on the 'ACEPORA-ECO' portfolio—spanning both nylon and polyester—and contribute to the expansion of both domestic and export markets."
